I am so excited to finally be sharing pictures from our delayed honeymoon this past January to Florida. My husband and I had such an incredible week of adventures. To say that we fell in love with Key West would be quite the understatement.
Our journey didn’t exactly start on the right foot though. Our flights from Erie to Chicago were cancelled after an ice storm covered our area. Actually, our plane never even landed in Erie to begin with. If you are familiar with Erie’s airport, at all, you know that there are no extra airplanes sitting around to fly passengers in a situation like this. And if you are not familiar with our airport, let me just say, you don’t exactly have to be there an hour before your flight because you will make it from check-in to aircraft in way less than 20 minutes. After finding out that our flights were cancelled at 5 AM, my amazing mother-in-law saved the day by driving us to Cleveland to get on a plane to Chicago. I seriously love that lady more than she knows! So we were off to continue our adventures, albeit, with a change to our itinerary.
We flew into Tampa, Florida to visit Matt’s side of the family that we don’t get to see very often. We had such a great time catching up with everyone as well as getting to see the sights around Tampa. We also got to sneak in a beautiful mother-son photo session with Matt’s cousin and I can’t wait to share a few favorites from that session. But I digress.
On our second day in Florida, Matt and I drove to Orlando. I had so much fun out there that I hardly got a chance to pick up my camera. Of course, as you would imagine, it doesn’t help to carry camera equipment while riding roller coasters and 3-D simulation rides. So, I made do with my handy iPhone and captured a few moments at Disney Springs, Islands of Adventures, and Universal Studios.
After spending a day and a half in Orlando, we were off to Key West! And this is where the most relaxing part of this trip started. We spent our days exploring, trying most of the waterside restaurants, eating lots of Key Lime pie, snorkeling, dolphin watching, and so much more. Honestly, I feel as if the words fail me to describe our time in Key West. This beautiful place cannot be described in words. So I leave you with these images of our wonderful adventures throughout Key West.
